Before hiring a mover, make sure you know your rights and responsibilities! Learn to spot the red flags of moving fraud and make your next move a success by downloading a free Moving Fraud Prevention Guide.

Interstate movers must comply with federal rules and regulations, which include registering with FMCSA. Search for registered movers and view their complaint histories before selecting a mover.

Moving Day Tips

Is today the day? Follow these moving day tips to help Protect Your Move:

  • Ask for a copy of the Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move booklet, which moving companies are required to provide to you.
  • Be present during the move to answer questions and give instructions.
  • Never sign blank documents!
  • Stay until the movers are finished - conduct a final walk-through of the property before you leave.
